Poet

Theater for the New City hosted Love N’ Courage, a benefit for the theater’s emerging playwrights program.

Held at the National Arts Club, the event honored Mario Fratti with the theater’s Distinguished Achievement Award.

The gala evening began with a cocktail hour followed by dinner and a star filled show.

Among the luminaries performing were Liliane Montevecchi, F. Murray Abraham, Anna Bergman, Inma Heredia, Phoebe Legere, David Lewis and KT Sullivan.

The equally star-studded audience was presented a new short play by the evening’s honoree, Mario Fratti.

Voices in the Desert

Born from an idea by Italian author Marco Melloni (winner of the Pier Paolo Pasolini Award 2013, Rome, Italy), Voices in the Desert (Voci nel Deserto) is a project that aims to collect fragments of thinking from the past (from literature, theater, and public speeches) in order to Recycle Memory.

A concert of voices from the past, made in several languages, to recycle memory and understand that what it’s true now, was true and important decades as well as centuries ago.
